Distracted Parenting

Distracted Parenting

One may think this week’s parent topic, Distracted Parenting, will be one of those class discussions when you leave TLC feeling more guilty than you did when you walked in. Hopefully, this will NOT be the case- especially after our discussion last week around the importance of NOT being our own worse enemy- a bully to ourselves. Rather, the following parenting resource by Dr. Perri Klass published recently in the New York Times is refreshingly realistic. Historically, haven’t all parents been distracted? And, further, a little distraction may even help us feel less isolated and/or relieve some inevitable parenting stress.

We don’t always like to admit it, but taking care of small children is often quite tedious.
