28 Oct Tips for Moms (and Dads) to Make Time for Themselves
As parents, many of us have already heard, perhaps repeatedly, how important it is that we take good care of ourselves – that we love ourselves – so that we are able to raise our children with care, love, and patience, and set a good example of believing in one’s own self-worth. Maybe you have heard the following phrase:
You can’t take care of others if you don’t take care of yourself.
While we may intellectually agree that it is important to be mindful of our own self-care, we also know that realistically, it is extremely difficult to do this when our days are so full. In fact, it can seem impossible. There is laundry to be done, floors to be cleaned, food to be purchased and prepared, appointments to be scheduled, birthday gifts to be wrapped, dogs to be walked…the list seems endless. At The Loved Child, every semester we dedicate a weekly parent topic to “Parents Taking Care of Themselves.” This week we will specifically discuss ways in which parents might actually manage to do this.
