We all have parenting instincts that kick in after our babies are born, but informing those instincts with evidence-based information and expert advice makes raising babies with confidence so much easier. Please join us to learn about caring for your baby after birth. Topics include bringing baby home, infant sleep patterns and expectations, how to know what your baby wants by reading his or her cues, feeding choices, diapering, bathing, soothing your baby, and illness.
This class is intended for up to two of the baby’s intended caregivers.
The Family & Friends CPR Course teaches the lifesaving skills of adult Hands-Only CPR, adult CPR with breaths, child CPR with breaths, adult and child AED use, infant CPR, and mild and severe airway block for adults, children, and infants. Skills are taught in a dynamic group environment using the AHA’s research-proven practice-while-watching technique, which provides students with the most hands-on CPR practice time possible.
Family & Friends CPR is for people who want to learn CPR but do not need a CPR course completion card to meet a job requirement. This course is ideal for community groups, new parents, grandparents, babysitters, and others interested in learning how to save a life.
This class is intended for up to 2 caregivers.
Expectant parents will learn about the science of infant sleep, from before birth through the first year. Developmentally appropriate sleep patterns and expectations, common milestones, and options to support your baby’s sleep development will also be covered.
A brief overview of what an acupuncture treatment looks like and what it can help treat during pregnancy. You’ll get an opportunity to try a needle, and we’ll also discuss a few acupressure points (pressing certain areas with a finger or blunt object like a bead) that you can use on your own to help reduce nausea or bring a sense of calm back into your body.
Knowledge is definitely power when it comes to breastfeeding success in the early days. Let us help you prepare for the arrival of your little one by discussing all you need to know about initiating breastfeeding after delivery.
We will discuss proper latch and positioning, recognizing your baby’s feeding cues, how often to feed your baby and how to solve some common breastfeeding problems. We look forward to answering all of your questions and helping you get comfortable and confident with the idea of breastfeeding your new baby!
